We are keen to start introducing PLD in Foundation. How do we go about this?
Pre-Primary (WA), Prep. (QLD, Vic, Tas) Reception (SA), Transition (NT) or Kindergarten (NSW)
A general enquiry form can be completed.
i. PLD maintains that an investment in training, will assist the effectiveness of how programs are implemented. The cost effective training options include:
Online courses - Which online course? Please note that the first video in the FOUNDATION course is freely available to view and this will provide direction as to the basics in term 1 and 2 explicit rereading and early reading instruction
WA based seminars and interstate SPELD seminars can be located at:
Additional skype coaching can be scheduled in blocks of 30, 45 or 1 hour bookings.
ii. Whole School Literacy Strategy
Download Whole School Literacy Strategy Booklet Overview of the literacy component of the Foundation year can be found on pages 8 and 9.
iii. Tracking is essential:
Foundation and into Year 1 - Early Reading Tracking
Pre-Literacy tracking for Term 1 (or semester 1 for lower operating students)
