Updates to the downloadable PLD Teaching Sequence & Screening & Tracking Manuals

At PLD we update manuals as required. We are constantly communicating with the schools and seeing where implementation is unclear and these insights facilitate the manual upgrades.
All previous manuals are still usable. The skills sequence has not changed in the manuals.

In the more recent Year 1/2 and 3, 4, 5 & 6 Screening and Tracking Manuals there are sentences to support the spelling placement tests. In the earlier manuals the single word spelling test is still appropriate to present.

The Teaching Sequence Manuals for Foundation, Year 1/2 and Year 3/4/5/6 rather than just listing the phonic concepts to teach, the updated manuals list the exact list from the TimeSavers range and the titles of the relevant phonic dictation passages.

So in short the older manuals are fine to use.

However additional functions will be added over time.

Like mobile phones the newer version are nice yo have with added functions but the earlier models still work fine.

Hope this insight helps.
Kind regards

Diana Rigg
