SUPPORT SSP KIT: In my small group of 4 how do you manage recording on the support kit documentation of the withdrawn session?
The documentation sheet is designed to be used one copy per student, so photocopy the Withdrawn Sessions sheet four times and write each student's name at the top. Here's how each part runs with a group of four, in session order.
The review and scoring: You have two ways to handle this.
- Option A: Rotate for individual scoring. Pull one student aside for a quick one-to-one second read-through and mark their accuracy on their own sheet, while the other three play one of the phonic games or complete the speech-to-print task. Rotate so a different student gets their one-to-one turn across the days, using the Day 1 to Day 5 columns to spread it over the week. Then bring everyone back together for a group review of the content, no marking needed for that part.
- Option B: Skip individual scoring. If you prefer, don't mark the accuracy boxes individually at all. Just review the content together as a group, calling on students as you go. The sheet still records what was covered.
Word list reading (as a group): Read through the word list together. As the User Guide notes (pages 12 to 13), with more than one student you call on particular students or the whole group while working through the list, rather than each student reading the whole list alone.
Tasks and games: Tick the task checkboxes (cards, word list, phonic game, passage) on each student's sheet to show what was completed.
Speed read and passage reading (as a group): Run these as group tasks. For the 60-second speed read, students read a line each. For passage reading, have them read along and call on them in turn, then log the time or score on each student's sheet.
