How does the Early Years SSP Kit differ to the Foundation, Year 1 & Year 2 SSP Kits?

The Early Years Kit can be used in schools that run 4-year-old programs and also ECE/Day Care centres. These kits can be purchased by schools and by day-care providers.

  • The integrated nature of this kit includes pre-literacy, motor and oral language.
  • There are no whole-class screen display materials.
  • The programs come in hard copy only.
  • However, the kit includes a generous training allocation within the pack to support upskilling the daycare workforce.

Keep in mind that most of Australia does not have 'kindergarten' amalgamated into primary schools as WA does, so the main market for this kit is outside education. This is one of the primary reasons why the Early Years kit has a different design.

The SSP Kits are designed in two different formats.

The school format for Foundation, Year 1 through to Year 6 Kits functions differently from the Early Years Kit in that they are integrated and include:

  • Whole-class screen display teaching resources, accessible via an annual fee.
  • Daily Reviews
  • Hard copy resources for the Volume 1 and Volume 2 manuals (which means that integrating multiple books, i.e. Time-Savers and Phonic Dictation, is no longer necessary).
  • A focus purely on structured synthetic phonics.

Keep in mind that for the cost, there are only so many programs that can be placed within the Early Years Kit. Schools can supplement with additional oral language programs as required. https://pld-literacy.org/oral-language-programs/
