PLD used to encourage schools to conduct Pre and Post testing, however, More than 10 years ago, we found that in today's technological society schools that conducted the 'Pre-Test' had on average more than 80% of students failing. Conduct Mid-Year and End of Year Tests.
First, teach Term 1 & 2 and then conduct a progress check mid-year to determine students who would be unlikely to 'make-it' and work toward acquiring these skills within Semester 2.
If students are scoring 0/4 or 1/4 mid-year, we would suggest this is grounds for a referral to Speech.
