What is new at PLD

HOW HAS PLD CHANGED?

PLD is continually modifying and improving resources and school services.

The Whole School Literacy Plan booklet on the website provides an overview of what PLD's current offering is. From year to year there are minor changes.

This document is PLD's best summary of what current implementation looks like. Download it (or request hard copies) HERE

IMPLEMENTATION & TRACKING CHANGES

Over the last Five years, PLD has:

  • Outlined a full phonics (and affix) scope and sequence HERE
  • Updated our approach to High Frequency Words HERE
  • Created a downloadable Teaching Sequence Manual and Screening & Tracking Manual, so that classes and year levels can screen, plan for and present PLD more consistently.

  • Significantly improved the screening process and use of the PLD Tracking sheets to track student progress HERE
  • Improved access to support through videos and availability for School Support Coordinators to give feedback on data. Request support HERE

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
  • The TimeSavers range (for the junior, middle and upper primary classes) provide word lists, templates and all teachers need HERE
  • The Phonic Dictation Range has been updated. We offer a great trade in on this range HERE

Dictation & TimeSavers Resources

  • The blending programs, now incorporate continuous blending . This is as a result of developments in research in the area. The aim of continuous blending is to get students reading/decoding 6 weeks earlier, due to the earlier development of blending. This video may be of use HERE
